Washington Crossing State Park

The 2023 DMA Fall Foliage Tour will begin at Washington Crossing State Park in Titusville, NJ. Washington's Crossing State Park is the site of General George Washington's historic 1776 Christmas night crossing of the icy Delaware River. The park gates open at 8:00 AM and the visitor's center opens at 9:00 AM if you would like to arrive early and explore on your own. Please arrive by 10:00 AM at the very latest. Entry cost is free for 2023.
We'll also be providing snack bags for the road trip. We will depart Washington Crossing State Park by 10:30 AM sharp. We will then make our way North for the 1.5 hour drive along the Delaware River through the historic towns of Lambertville, Stockton and Frenchtown where we will make a brief pit stop for lunch.
Please be sure to start the drive with a full tank of gas. There is a Delta on the corner of Route 29 and Washington Crossing, Pennington Road (the road which the entrance to the park is on).
It is recommended to bring along a two way radio in case anyone gets stuck at a traffic light, breaks down, has an emergency, etc. so we can pull over as a group. Please note that New Jersey prohibits the use of handheld devices so be mindful of this whenever using your two-way radio.

After lunch we will continue North to Phillipsburg, NJ for the 2:00 PM Delaware River Railroads Excursions Great Pumpkin Train. The plan is to arrive here by 1:15 PM so we have plenty of time to park and make our way to the train.
The Great Pumpkin Train is an approximate one hour and 30 minute ride along the Delaware River. Due to time constraints, please note we will only be doing the train ride and not disembarking for either the Mining Tour or Corn Maze.
Cost is $18 per adult and $13 for children 12 and under.

Cost is $48 per adult and $24 for children 12 and under if you're just doing dinner. There is an $8.00 discount for both adults & children if purchasing the Great Pumpkin Train Ride & Dinner at the Pasta Grill together.

We'll meet in Frenchtown, NJ around 9:00 AM at the Early Bird Espresso and Merchantile for a light breakfast (coffee, tea, pastries).
We'll explore the many shops of Frenchtown from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM which include:

Around 1:00 PM, we'll leave Frenchtown and cross the Uhlerstown-Frenchtown Bridge into Pennsylvania to the Uhlerstown Cover Bridge.

Quality Inn Hackettstown – Long Valley

We are experiencing many hotels that will not reserve smaller room blocks due to limited availability and/or already booked with larger group room blocks.
There is a Quality Inn in Hackettstown, NJ almost directly across from the Pasta Grill, our dinner location.
According to the Quality Inn's website they have limited availability for the nights of Friday October 20 and Saturday October 21. Current room rates per their website are $149 per night plus applicable taxes.
Please note that the starting point and ending point of the driving route is approximately 65 miles from each other, so you may also want to look into staying somewhere that is more convenient depending on your travels to and from the event.

Deadline: Oct 15*
While the deadline to signup is Sunday October 15, 2023, if you plan to attend and do the Great Pumpkin Ride, it is highly recommended that you sign up much sooner. Delaware River Railroad Excursions unfortunately do not take reservations and tickets are purchased on a first come first serve basis.
If adding more than one person, after submitting 'Register', the PayPal cart will open in a new window. Come back to this page and add another registrant and your cart should be updated in checkout.
